It can also be Mexico (I bought such a week ago).
I saw these yesterday but passed them up. You're unlikely to get top quality fruit at that price (because the wholesaler would have found a higher bidder for it). What Stan has is either fruit on the verge of spoiling (and you should eat it right away) or has gone through some kind of stress (say, freezing then thawing).
But I'm happy to be proven wrong. Miracles do happen.
