I'm doing the DC trail in May.
I'm planning on doing trip in 7 days going down, 2 days in DC and 6 or 7 days back. A fairly leisurely pace. That means about 50 miles a day - although I don't see a way to do it without a couple of 60 mile days.
No commonwealths will be crushed during the making of this trip.
I'll likely stay at motels and B&B's, but if someone who was experienced at camping wanted to camp it, I could do that too.
I'll ride slow and take breaks. I'll swim in the Yough a few times. I'll probably do an afternoon break about 4:20 or so, then ride some before dinner. I'll have a backpack guitar with me.
I picked the time so that if I have to ride in the evening, there will be a moon, for the most part.
Anyone traveling around that time, I'll like to talk with you. Even if you have a radically different plan or pace, we could meet up on the trail, say howdy, have dinner, whatever.

Can anyone point me to a DC bike forum? I'm guessing there is one, but google isn't helping me.
I guess I'm missing something obvious.
Any fool could guess if you wanted a bike forum in Pittsburgh, you search for "Sheetz footlong," of course.
