Very sad:

"One of the world’s largest collections of vintage bicycles and bicycling memorabilia is hitting the auction block in three installments, beginning December 1."

Wow, that place is in Buffalo? I am sick! I didn't know they where there and I have been to Buffalo a ton of times! I always wanted to see old bikes like that in one place. Guess I won't. Man, those are awesome! Thanks for letting people know. Maybe I will own one of them? Better yet, I hope someone opens another museum and buys them all for people to enjoy.

Wow, I actually toured the place! Summer 2006. This is about five miles from where I grew up.

I didn't realize that old bikes are works of art.

Wow (yeah, I think I'm the fourth person who said Wow).

Beautiful parts, workmanship and designs.

I have seen some photos of this Collection before, wow super great one of the very best.I bet the Bowden and the Elgin Blue bird sell for 9000 to 20.000 grand each but i wounder why they are selling all of this off.The Bone Shaker bike looks very close to the one i have in the Museum a 1860 all wooden frame wheels and brakes. The old bikes are work of Art quality made kool Streamline Motor Cycle look. Many Vintage Bikes even before the 1920s had Suspension spring forks shocks lights even gears.I love the 1930s bikes Art Deco or Jet Plane and Auto design. At the Museum we have bike lights from the 1890s and older to the single candle light style, can you belive that a light that uses a candle used on a bicycle.BicycLe Heaven has the largest collection of the Rare Bowden and Schwinn Stingray bikes,,large head badge collection, even a small Beatle & Elvis the King collection .I wish i had the money to buy some of bikes but right now all my money is getting the bike Museum up and running and haveing the word out that Pittsburgh even has a bike Museum,,,,,stop by Bicycle Heaven the new bike Museum here in pittsburgh and see some of the same type bikes 412 716 4956,,,OPEN 7 DAYS A WEEK AND FREE,,Artdfact grand opening is this friday nov 30th and dec 1st 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm the bike Museum will be open the same since we are right next door in the same building,,,Timothy Kelley and his Sculptures..Paintings,,and a Jeweler from Chicago with affodable gifts and organic body balms and lotions,,,come stop by sounds like fun,,,at BICYCLE HEAVEN / ARTDFACT ,,,Bicycle heaven 1800 Preble and Columbus ave R.J. I expected something like more this:

the mona lisa wore clip in sandals? those wacky itailians.

2012-12-30 13:26:04

I'm guessing it's not her bike. With that robe, she'd more be on a step-through frame.

Obviously a photoshop job, they didn’t have STI in 1503.

Marko, any idea what century they moved from a quill stem to threadless?

Also, the radial spoke pattern and what appears to be a tapered and possibly integrated headset... perhaps DaVinci had a time machine or a crystal ball? I'm surprised that he clearly prefers box rims over the aero variety...
