Fatbike setup for commuting question

Those of you who commute during winter w/ a fatbike, do you use fenders, and if so, full or is another solution sufficient?

I was hoping to see some activity here. I just got my mukluk so I haven't used it in winter yet, but i plan to and riding in the rain did have me thinking about fenders already... doesn't look like there are a whole lot of options though? Absent any other developments I'll probably give the mud shovels a shot and see how they work.

Pdw mud shovels all the way. Super easy to install and remove.

How do those mud shovels stop snow/water hitting your shoes and legs when you actually have to make a turn? I doubt they work at all.

I don't know. I don't turn the front wheel 90 degrees and ride.

When I bought my first real bike (16?) the stupid sales clerk (college town) told me the down tube would protect me from the rain and this was on a hybrid bike With full fenders on my 1.5" bike, the snow/slush would clog up and create noticeably more friction. We'll see how my 2.1" tires fare with wider fenders

Some of it will depend on tires, and obviously terrain. I run a 4.8" Bud up front, and it throws so much crap that anything short of a full coverage fender (tried mud shovels, and diy milk jugs) leaves me pretty messy. As far as foot coverage, I wear a couple different pairs of boots that go well above the ankle, so feet don't get wet.

If I am riding my fat bike, it is probably because there is snow, and in that case, I am wearing rain pants and boots anyway.
