Might be worth locating the serial number and asking the police if they have a theft report for it.

FOUND (ABANDONED?) Green Huffy Mountain Bike
This bike was found abandoned in my front yard in Greenfield. It was there when I left for work in the morning and it was still there when I got home at night. It's in my garage now. If you can prove ownership, it's yours. If it stays unclaimed, I will give it away to whoever wants it. It looks like it's been abandoned for a while--the drivetrain is rusted and the pedals are rusting out as well.
