FS Surly Cross-Check 58cm

I posted this on cl but thought I should post here as well...

I'm selling my 58 cm crosscheck I JUST bought.

Like a bum I bought a bike that was way too big for me and as a result I struggled to get it to fit for a couple of weeks and now I'm cutting my losses.

I've owned the bike for literally a month (if that) and have ridden it maybe 5 times.

I listed it at 850 and am flexible within reason...

anyone interested let me know, jchechile@gmail.com

thanks!

Justin

I saw this on Craigslist and was a little bummed! When I was shopping for bikes I was considering the Crosscheck to run as a single speed but ended up buying a Kona Paddy Wagon. The 58 may have been a little big for me as well, I bought a 56.

Good luck, surprised you haven't seen more interest.

how tall are you justin?

Sizing Surlies is tricky because the 58, at least, is sized square, whereas most 58's have 57 or 56 top tubes.

erok i'm 5'8

i think i should have gotten a 54 or 56...

the top tube on this bike is really long and even with a shorter stem and moving my saddle all the way forward i'm still not comfortable on it. i don't know what I was thinking...

I'll probably just sell this one and rebuy it but the right size

My 58cm Steamroller is big for me (though probably can be fixed with a shorter stem/different bars) and I'm 6'. Justin, I think you're right about not being able to fit that bike no matter what you do to it.

Man! I would have bought this a week ago! I was looking for exactly this, but I just got an older 60cm Gary Fisher cross frame. If yr not opposed to shipping, I'll spread the word here in Philly.

I'm in a casual search for a new road bike. Can I take a look at it this weekend?

I actually bought the same exact bike a couple weeks ago. I couldn't be more pleased with it. Able to do just about anything, fairly light for a steely, and just plain fun. Also, Justin's a nice guy. I highly suggest checking this bike out, you won't be disappointed.

I got a reply about this bike recently.

I figured I should mention the bike is sold.

Thanks
