FS/FT: Lots of road parts, Mavic Aksium wheels, Lemond Chambery frame

I'm cleaning out my parts closet and have just posted a bunch of stuff on craigslist. I'm going to copy it below, including pricing, but since you're a bike-pgh message board member, take 10% off the price. I'm also definitely interested in some trades (for some pretty specific stuff), so if you have a big parts pile let me know.

Parts:

Shimano Ultegra CS-6500 9 speed cassette. 12-25T, in pretty good shape. $35

Shimano Ultegra ST-6501 STI shift/brake levels (brifters). Triple up front and 9 speed in the back, the front can be used with a double. They are in rough shape around the edges, but I put new caps on them and they work fine, so get them at a steal if you don't care about cosmetics. $100

3T ARX Pro aluminum stem. I believe it's 105mm, 6 degree, with a 31.8mm clamp but I can get more accurate measurements if you want. The decals are rubbed off a tiny bit in places, but it's not scratched or anything. $30

Crank Brothers 5050 pedals. Big fat platform pedals, perfect for your mountain or city bike. There is a tiny bit of scuffing but they spin perfectly, very few miles. $35

Sugino XD600 crankset. This is the world's greatest touring crankset, but this particular one is 170mm so it's too short for me. It has two of the three possible chainrings installed, a 46T and a 36T, the 46 is a Sugino and the 36, I'm not sure, but both are aluminum and in good shape. In nearly perfect shape, very few miles. $70

Brooks B17 standard saddle, with steel rails. Great condition, has some marks from being mounted and is slightly scuffed, but is otherwise basically new and not broken in. $65

Shimano Tiagra FD-4403, triple front derailleur. Also in great condition with few miles, includes the mounting clamp for your frame, $30.

Shimano AD-11 front derailleur braze on adapter clamp, a little scuffed. I can throw this in free with something if you really need it.

Super magtur30 magnetic bike trainer replacement wheel. I got this with a used bike trainer I got a while back as a spare, and it doesn't fit the trainer! So maybe you have a trainer that it would mount to? Or, you're going to try to build your own somehow? I'll also give this to you for free if you can convince me you need it.

Nitto Moustache RM-016 handlebars. These are heat treated and in basically perfect shape aside from some tape residue and mounting marks. The perfect bars for your city bike or randonneur. I also have some cinelli cork tape that was on these which I will include, there's still plenty of stickiness left. $60

Nitto Technomic quill stem. in great shape, nearly new not sure of the length but it's rather short (maybe 80mm?) $30

Performance quill stem. 100mm or so, aluminum, $10

Shimano quick release skewers. Steel. $10

Rivex chain breaker. I decided I don't need three of these. $5

Shimano Nexus inter-3 3-speed coaster brake hub. I had dreams one day of building up a rear wheel and making a slick three-speed city bike with no rim brakes, but those dreams have passed. Now YOU can live the dream! This is a take-off from some hybrid city cruiser bike, so it is kindof as-is, but it appears to work as it should. Includes all cabling and the shifter. The cog appears to be in basically new shape. $40

Mavic Aksium wheels + tires

This is a light, bulletproof road bike wheelset; the perfect way to get Mavic quality with dropping tons of $$. These wheels have a couple hundred miles on them, and are in perfect shape aside from one slightly bent spoke on the front wheel (pictured). The spoke got bent when the wheels were shipped with my bike, and I took it into the bike shop and they said it didn't matter at all. It didn't seem to affect the truing. The front wheel's braking surface is basically new because for whatever reason I rarely used the front brake while riding on these. They also still have the decals on them! I'll also include three tires - a Hutchinson Equinox and two Michelin Oriums. I could have sworn one of the Michelins had a small hole in it but I can't find it for the life of me, so you can use it as a spare if you want. They also come with the original Mavic quick release skewers and the original PIE PLATE. I can send better pictures or more details if you want. $210

Lemond Chambery frame

This is a super light double-butted, heat-treated aluminum frame made in the late 1990s and early 2000s. I believe the sizing is 61 cm, but I can get more accurate measurements (of anything!) if you need it. The frame itself is in great shape, but the paint is a bit sketchy in places. I bought this from someone and used the parts to build up another bike, and it looks like the original owner sweat a lot on the top tube, resulting in some paint peeling (pictured below). It's purely cosmetic though. If I were you I would strip the paint and get it powder coated some slick color and build up a nice race bike, or a really fast city bike. The frame includes a seatpost clamp, front derailleur hanger and shifter cable bosses. $250

How big is the clamp on the Nitto bars?

Really want those wheels, just no spare cash at the moment. Damn the luck.

Also, it has occurred to me in the past that I could whip up a pretty sweet fast commuter/city bike with the parts listed plus a little extra (race frame and wheels + shimano group + moustache bars? oh yeah!), but it would probably be kind of expensive for a commuter (probably in the $800 range). But if you or anyone you know (probably needs to be a pretty tall person) would be interested, let me know.

I'll take the chain breaker (or two) The hub looks tempting, but it'd just be going from one storage shelf to another :P

Some guy emailed me from craigslist about the chain breaker, but he first called it a chain bike then a chain brake so the purchase very well may fall through. If no one buys that hub one day I will build that bike... one day.

i'd like to buy that hub actually, i have some rims that'll do quite nice, all i need is a front hub.

Mark, it's all yours. Would be great to see this hub get used. I'm PMing you now.

Ultegra cassette and brifters are sold, sugino crank is sold, 5050 pedals, chain breaker and brooks are spoken for, so is the hub if Mark still wants it! I also have a no-name 90mm threadless stem with a 25.4 clamp and a pretty hefty rise (maybe 12 degrees?) for $10, and a 90mm easton EA50 threadless stem with a 25.4mm clamp with less of a rise - probably 6 degrees - for $10 as well.

Someone explain threadless clamp sizes to me. I have the larger clamp size on the bike I would want to put the moustache bars on. Is that 26?

rsprake

Threadless stems have two clamp sizes - one for clamping onto the fork, and one for clamping onto the bars. The fork clamp size is almost always 1 1/8", but is occasionally 1" and rarely 1 1/4". The handlebar clamp size varies a lot, but a typical "smaller" size is 25.4 mm, and a (now very typical) "larger" clamp size is 31.8. The nitto bars all have a diameter of 26.0mm at the clamp. I don't have a pair of calipers to measure exactly but I believe the EA50 and no-name stems I have are both 25.4, so will be too small to fit with the nitto moustache bars. To check your stem, you can look on your handlebars for a size marking, as well as inside of your stem's handlebar clamp. If you have calipers, you could also easily measure it. I could meet up with you and we could just try clamping the nittos.

I am out of town or else I would have checked it. Pretty certain I have the 31.8 size.

Well, not sure if you're up for it or not, but you can get an '08 EA50 in a 26mm clamp diameter for $7+shipping here:

http://www.jensonusa.com/store/product/ST279J02-Easton+Ea50+Stem+08.aspx

My justification for selling mine for $10 is that there's no shipping! Depends on your current stem length though I guess because they only have 110 and 120mm in the 26.0 clamp size. You could also probably snag a 26mm threadless stem on ebay for less than $10 shipped if you don't care about the brand too much - like this one, I imagine this will end for cheap: http://cgi.ebay.com/180697064120 Also, if you're really committed, they sell shims which go inside of the clamp that adapt 26.0mm to 31.8mm.

Make me a deal on the wheels, Tiagra front der., and the 3t stem?

Just offer something! With the bikepgh discount it would be (210+30+30) = 243. How about $240 - a steal! :)
