Has Pittsburgh had a bicycle move before?

I am not about to compare Pittsburgh to Boulder which is a Platinum cycling city, but I found this move really cool. Will we ever come this far around here? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v89A9Fp7P3Y

I moved about 70% of my belongings into my current apartment via bicycle (using milk crates). It was only about 4 blocks away, but it still took a while.

Inspiring that we did this in 2011. Pretty clever way to get a bunch of fit people to help you move! This makes me want to ride with my trailer for hauling stuff more often. Already do daycare drops that way days I work at home. Now it's time to haul something heavier than the kids. Really hope I can do that from Costco semi-regularly... that the go arounds on the GAP are less of a pain than I fear. I know I could navigate them without the kids by unscrewing a bar and folding the sides down so I guess I won't be stuck no matter what, so there's no harm in trying some workday.

I helped my neighbors move by bike back in 2009.

If anyone wants to do this for real, I'm moving on Tuesday.

Why would you like silver? What are the specific advantages that the silver rating denotes?

More bike friendly equates to safer cycling. Pittsburgh is a lot of fun to cycle around because the cool hills, but it isn't bike friendly for the most part. It is vastly better than 10 years ago that is for sure, it is filled with narrow roads with no shoulder and people selfishly speeding everywhere. If we had more bike paths and bike lanes, maybe we could strive for that silver rating. Not that the rating itself is the real goal, it is what it took to get there. Guess I wish we could catch up to some of the places out west.
