Has anyone been following the discussions on the various curmudgeonly message boards (RBW, BOB)? Apparently this story has morphed into "selfish shop owner takes Carters' custom Rivendells and gives them Specialized Globes, oh, and the Globes got stolen."

but why does a millionaire need a donated bike?
If I owned a bike shop and a former President came in, I would do whatever I could to keep myself and the shop in the spotlight. Give him a cool bike? Sure. Try to upsell his Secret Service team on better bikes for them to keep up. You bet. Smile for the press? Absolutely.
What would kraynick do?
Maybe he could crash some helicopters near the thief's house?
