On the T with no money?

I realize it's off topic but I figured you guys would know. I hopped on the T a few nights ago with only $1. I called my wife and she met me at the station but it was a huge hassle for her.

So, what happens if you get on the T with no money, or not enough?

I've only done it once, on the bus, and the driver let me slide...

I guess it depends on the mood of person taking the fair. I have been waived thru on the incline while looking for the change for the exact amount.

I would say that in most cases the driver will just let you go.

They seem to be more forgiving on outbound vs. inbound trips. That's my experience.

With the impending storm I took the bus this morning. When the driver saw me holding my wallet he waved me through... not sure if he was impatient or the machine wasn't accepting bills.

Highly dependent on many subjective variables. My experience in talking to drivers is that if you make a serious attempt to pay any substantial amount (dollar bill and a pile of coins), they'll let you slide. What doesn't work is if they think you're trying to screw them.

Chris you are a white suburban middle-class male. I think you won't have any problems. :P

^ Just sayin', but I've never had problems either. (not white)
