Pedestrian Accident this morning on North Side

SUV hits man at North Side intersection

A man struck by an SUV this morning on the North Side was knocked unconscious and bleeding from the head, a Pittsburgh dispatch supervisor said.

The man was hit about 8:15 a.m. at the intersection of East Ohio and Chestnut streets, a city dispatch supervisor said. The man was transported to a hospital.

The driver of the SUV remained at the scene.

Both streets have since been reopened.

Pittsburgh police are investigating.

I haven't read the comments, but I predict:


"It's terrible, and I hope he's okay, but I see a lot of pedestrians walking out in the street there."


"What was he doing in the intersection anyway?"


"Pedestrians need to remember that, no matter who has the right of way, simple physics mean they lose."
