If it's muddy, the bigger tires are of no use. The ground needs to be frozen or you need hardpack snow to put them to use. There is no "good" bike for Punk Bike. Just a strong liver.

I have no idea what to expect about this event, but all I know is that (a) I'm coming for it even if just to cheer, and (b) sounds like hell-of-a-lot of fun

It is muddy, full of leaves and very steep in sections, but come on out, no shame in walking stuff that is over your head.
