Panhandle trail into Carnegie. <3 Miles!!!
Realistic trail goals I'd like to see in 2010
Maybe extending the Yough trail from Duquesne to the Waterfront.Extending the North Shore trail on the Allegheny from Millvale to Highland Park Bridge.Extending the North Shore Trail on the Ohio, from Alcosan, a few miles up to Coraopolis.Any other suggestions??
fund raiser for the north shore trail from the casino to the jail. there are some parts ready to fall into the Ohio...
Also on the northshore trail, who would we talk to about the vehicle barriers? some of them only leave a foot or two at the most of clearance to ride around. There is no way you could get a kid trailer through some of them or even a walking stroller for that matter. I understand wanting to keep cars off the trail, but I think allowing a 4+ft gap would still keep cars off and allow much safer passage for cyclists and peds.
extending the trail from Station square,(W.Station Square Drive),just 2.7 miles upriver to Brunot Island,(Stanhoppe Street). Cyclists can then "SAFELY" ride to the Montour Trail in Groveton.
Re; netviln: I think we could talk to a couple of long pry bars some early sunday morning
How about a nice clean way of getting from Millvale to and from the 40th Street Bridge and the river trail? That screwy intersection is an ambulance chaser's dream, and the goat path off of Maryland is little better. (*crosses fingers, hoping for reconfiguration as a roundabout*)
Sometime later we can talk about signing Evergreen and Babcock from Millvale to Three Degree Road as a bike route.
I am doubtful there will be any new sections of the GAP completed this year. I would at least like to see the small section of trail in the waterfront connected to the small section of trail under the Rankin bridge. Also, some agreement with Sandcastle wood be good too.
