The Major Taylor Cycling Club has a 6:30pm ride on Friday. Start at the Golden Triangle Bike and Blade Rental at the jail trail. All are welcome.

TDW are you planning on going? I think myself and mrs. marvelous might come..... well she says as long as the pace is not to intense.

Family stuff will keep me from attending, but just fyi, I know it to be a slower-paced, casual ride, not fast at all.

I don't think there are flock rides anymore. I would be kinda interested in riding down the jail trail and walking to the top of that parking garage like we did last year if there are fireworks.

i believe it is that there are no regularly scheduled flock rides... If it isnt raining Im up for a ride.

i may be down for that stef. that was a lot of fun last year.

Well, I certainly stand corrected.

Fireworks are at 8:30 according to kdka

I rode through the point this morning in the direction from blvd of the allies to ft duq ped bridge to the north side. There is a huge stage set up right in front of that area in the park where there is a bridge with an overpass above. I was able to get around, but it may be tricky later, just to warn anyone traveling through there. I would imagine that it would be open to pedestrian traffic during the celebration so that people can walk from where the "tree" is near the fountain to the vendor area that is on the city side.

Soooo, meet at Dippy at 6pm, leave at 6:30?

Ill be there rode in the morning... COLD.. there were ice crystals in my water bottle when I got to town.

I'm not gonna make mrs. marvelous doesn't do cold riding.

You can get past the stage up until a certain point. We got stuck on the wrong side last year during a bike ride I do and we had to detour around. I think once stnta makes it to the park, it gets closed off for a bit due to pyrotechnics on the stage or something...but on a nice note, people from the little museaum down there were handing out free hot chocolate!

I will join for this, but I will see you at the Jail Trail by the Bike Rental. I'm already Downtown and don't wanna run to Oakland just to come back again.

I wish I could have made this. I developed a cold and it just got worse and worse by the end of the day. I HEARD the fireworks all the way from house in morningside. Glad you guys had fun! No gunfire this year?

I didn't make the ride, but I was surprised by how cold it wasn't on my way home from work (around 5pm). I only wore my tshirt, hoodie, thin work pants, and gloves.
