Bump!

With all the new trail work, is there a reasonable path from southside to turtle creek following the Mon?

no sidewalk on rankin bridge but traffic is usually so slow across just take the lane.

The triboro under the westinghouse bridge is under construction and impassable.

braddock to library/jones to bell

bell becomes center to grandview to bessemer to linden down and pick up triboro or airbrake into turtle creek. only real hill is library/jones and the rest is easy.

I lived up there and would ride to work that way

I'm looking to get to Rodi Road in Wilkins.

So braddock to library/jones to bell, then center to grandview to bessemer to linden looks okay.

What about Electric, Braddock to Penn, then on to Thompson/Larimer to reach Rodi?

Not a bad way, if your looking for lower rodi road. if youre going to follow it up to the upper rodi (section that has the shopping center on it) you are either going to have to take on a bit of 22 or go up lougeay road. Lougeay is all uphill (not to bad) but twisty and not that well maintained. and I can tell you from experience that people in Penn Hills, (where I live now) Have no clue what to do with a cyclist.

http://maps.google.com/?ie=UTF8&hq=&hnear=6381+Saltsburg+Rd,+Pittsburgh,+Allegheny,+Pennsylvania+15147&ll=40.432445,-79.819365&spn=0.019567,0.045447&t=h&z=15

that map should show lower rodi, 22, lougeay, and upper rodi.

I am not sure how to pick up Rodi but as far as getting to Turtle Creek I second Nate's recommendation. I ride to the JCC pool in Monroeville (near the mall) regularly and that's my route.
