UPMC employee transit driver

The other day I was on my way home from work, coming off of the jail trail, through the parking lot and onto saline street, about to make a left onto second avenue. There was traffic on second ave, so I waited until it was safe to make my left. I had to wait a minute. Some 40- 50 something year old female driver with brownish hair pulled up behind me and kept honking and honking at me over and over until I turned around. She was motioning to the chute in a very animated manner. She was trying to make the right and I guess I was in her way. I shook my head and said it was dangerous and that I can use the road. I eventually got a clear road and pulled out without further harassment. I mentioned this to Marcel and he said that flock has problems before with what sounds like the same woman. It seems like she works the afternoon/evening shift perhaps. Has anyone else had an issue? I don't have to take the chute just because it is there, and I wonder if she is just an ass or stupid.

I wonder if she is just an ass or stupid. Why limit her to one or the other when she is clearly both! Just point to the Parkway and tell her she should be using that.

"I don’t have to take the chute just because it is there" Exactly. That bike infrastructure down there is awful. Taking the road is the way to do it. Sounds like a typical ignorant yinzer who thinks bikes aren't allowed in her way in the lane. My first post on this board was complaining about the time I was making a left at the top of Morrowfield onto Shady and a big red pickup with a yinzer hillbilly tried running me off the road because I was properly waiting for traffic to clear for me to go. Then he complained about cyclists never follow laws as I was fully stopped waiting legally signalling with my left hand. Sometimes I want to move to Portland or Seattle and leave some of these yinzers behind.

I once slowly rolled a stop sign in Portland and got a 375 dollar fine.

Also, for all the lady knew, Stef could have been making a right down second Ave into Homestead and in that case, getting in the jerrsy barrierswouldn't make any sense. I love how people who never ride a bicycle think they know WTF we're doing or what we SHOULD be doing. If she parks in the lot, I'd put a note on her car.

Don't go leaving notes on her car. Just get the bus info, call UPMC, work through the layers of bureaucracy, and complain to her supervisor. That will screw her more than anything else, especially if you're polite but firm.

Ah, I was confused as to whether or not this was somebody who parked in the parking lot or a driver, I guess it's the latter
