Where do I report a threatening motorist?

Around noon today in the southside, I was stopped at a stop sign when some guy in a truck was unnecessarily aggressive towards me. He yelled out of his truck "that's real smart" and then proceeded to make a left hand turn onto the street I was on. Only problem was that he made a particularly tight turn, forcing me to hop to the side to avoid him. He was going slowly enough that I was able to grab his license number.

PA Plate: YCT 6316

The truck was a partially loaded utility/industrial type pickup. May have also had racks on it.

I'm 95% confident in the plate number.

I'd like to report the incident, but I'm relatively new around here and don't know where to report it.

Thanks

Pretty much anyone you call will tell you to call 911, but in my experience, they probably can't really do much about it, unfortunately.

No. You should always try to create a record of the incident. It won't cause the police to mount a manhunt or anything but if that individual gets picked up for some other infraction, it provides history that would support the case for enforcement.

The website to use, I believe, is this one:

BTW: a while ago we had a constable reading this bboard and contributing useful information (it may have had to do with a period of attacks on bikers riding the ELB). Is that person still out there? Could they comment on my assertion?

Failing that, maybe Edgar has a tip or two.

Thanks. I submitted a report.

Ah, sorry, I was thinking more along the lines of sending someone to stop the car (which is pretty unrealistic, now that I think about it).

All that said, I do usually try to get plate numbers and report dangerous drivers.

I will say, with me experience previously being a 911 operator, they want all calls fielded through there. The particular zones will not handle complaints over the phone, and the telephone reporting unit is mon - fri normal office hours, sometime until 9 pm.

If your intentions are just to get the report filed, give 911 a ringy dingy monday after 9am, they will put the info in and the TRU will get back to you as soon as they can (sometimes takes a few hours.)

If you want to file a report with an officer this evening, then you need to remain somewhere in zone 3 (southside, arlington area) and maybe MAYBE in a few hours or so they may have an officer available to take a report from you.

Hope this info was moderately helpful.
