Who else is interested in womens' bike racing clinics?
Hey all, this is just a note to let you know that Steel City Endurance Racing Team is thinking about hosting a "Women's 101" bike racing clinic. Dates are tentative pending city and USA Cycling permits.
The audience would be women riders who are curious about learning to race bikes. The clinic would be held at the pseudo-drome on Washington Blvd. where weekly crits are held (women's on Tuesday night's at 6:30pm)
Last time I had a clinic like this, it developed into a full fledged women's race team. It's time to get the women out of hte woodwork again, and bring up a new crew of women racers.
Most of the women who came last time (1 1/2 yrs ago in the fall) had no bike racing experience, but were interested in learning what it was all about.
We'd like to foster women's racing, get more women to come out and try it, and provide a supportive, social network in which to do so.
So, consider this a teaser, will keep you all posted. Please reply with comments and suggestions about where all we can advertise these clinics, and if you are a guy, tell your wives, girlfriends, mothers and daughters.

Thanks Scott. What we found last time is that a whole bunch more women show up to express interested when it is focused on them. We hoped to dovetail with the event you listed above if we can get the USAC permit sorted out.

OUr tentative date for the women's event is the 27th of June, and we hope to have one in July and one in August as well.
