Commuters? check. Beginners? check. Trail Riders? check.

No matter your skill level, or the type of riding that you intend to do, BikePGH has opportunities for you to improve your biking skills. Thanks to our presenting sponsor, Edgar Snyder and Associates, all of our offerings are fun, flexible, and affordable. We have chances for you to get out 1 on 1 with an instructor or take a group ride through the city.

If you’re an absolute beginner, or you want 1 on 1 instruction:

14513424653_fa66ab444c_z2015 is the first year that BikePGH is offering individual lessons. Scheduling a individual lessons with one of BikePGH’s certified instructors is a good way for you to begin biking or receive 1 on 1 instruction. Just shoot us an email with a time that works for you. Individual lessons are $40/hr for BikePGH members, or $50/hr for non-members. Learn to Ride lessons are BYOB (bring your own bike, that is), but the lessons can meet at Golden Triangle Bike Rental or any bike shop where you can rent a bike.

If you’re a little wobbly and need a refresher, or want help with a particular skill:

17211434716_717ce3ab03_zJoin one of BikePGH’s Fundamentals of City Cycling classes. These classes are taught on the third Tuesday of every month at The Wheel Mill. The curriculum is flexible. The small class size allows the instructors to evaluate each participant individually and give feedback on specific skills. Bikes are available to rent, but we’d suggest bringing your own to get comfortable.

If you want instruction and experience with riding on the street:

16961796810_d825a80202_nOur Confident City Cycling classes are taught once a month from April to October and give the skills needed to confidently ride city streets. The classes begin in an empty parking lot where we work on some control maneuvers that help us take on pot holes, gravel and poor driver behavior. From there we break up into smaller groups for a group road ride. Along the way we stop to evaluate strategies for navigating various intersections, bike facilities and traffic patterns.

City Cycling classes are sponsored by Edgar Snyder & Associates, a law firm that supports safe cycling.
