Networking doesn’t have to be bland, just add a dash of BikePGH

BikePGH’s Business Network Meetup Schedule Continues in style

By Dan Yablonsky, Business & Education Coordinator

We discovered something amazing when we launched our BikePGH Business Network Meetup series this past May. Start with the cut and dry (often very dry) idea of a networking event; then host it at a unique venue; then provide some cheap drinks & food; then market it as a fun way to meet other people who take pride in the work they do; and suddenly you’re working together with a tight-knit business network towards a more bikeable, walkable Pittsburgh.

Whether its installing employee bike parking, or sponsoring a BikePGH event, businesses have been joining these meetups to share their stories. Thanks to some tremendous partners (Continental Office Environments, Highmark Stadium and the Pirates), the Meetup series will continue in style.

July 30th, 5:30 @ Continental Office Environments

Sayl Chair w logoBikePGH is heading to Continental Office Environments for our July Business Network Meetup. If you haven’t seen their space, you’ve got to come. It’s amazing. And if you have seen their space, you’ve got to come because we’re giving away a Herman Miller office chair. High design + high comfort = a better Monday morning.

The Pittsburgh Tech Council is also joining us to share how startups and young techies are creating amazing workplaces where employees actually enjoy their time. Don’t believe me? Come and talk with Jonathan, Amy and Kate

Feel free to invite the office. RSVP here.

August 27th, 5:30 @ Highmark Stadium

Bicycles + Soccer. We’re really going Euro with our August Business Network Meetup. Join BikePGH and the Pittsburgh Riverhounds for a happy hour with good company, great brews and beautiful city views – we’ll even be able to head out on Highmark Stadium’s field to pass the soccer ball or play a pickup game.highmark stadium w flickr cred

With their sponsorship of OpenStreetsPGH and Healthy Ride, Highmark is making unparalleled investments in creating a more walkable, bikable Pittsburgh. They realize that our city has amazing potential and that biking and walking are essential as we move forward.

Whether your team plays ball or not, RSVP here to join us.

September 15th, 5:30 @ PNC Park (pre-game for Pirates v. Cubs!)

Join BikePGH and the Pirates for a pre-game Happy Hour Meetup before the September 15th Bike to the Ballgame Event. The Pirates have gotten on board as some tremendous BikePGH supporters; helping with our Positive Spin Youth Empowerment Program and working on expanding bike parking options for attendees of 2016’s games.

The Pirates are buying the first round, then all food and beverage is half price until first pitch (scheduled for 7:05!).  Attendees will need to purchase tickets for the game… but this is probably one of your businesses’ best opportunities for workforce development all year… just kidding (not kidding).

Get your ticket today.
