Healthy Ride Shares Summer Data

Ridership reports will guide future planning and improvements

Healthy Ride has released ridership data for July, August, and September. This is the first of the organization’s reports, which will be released to the public on a quarterly basis.

The report contains detailed logs of all trips taken on city share bikes, including the dates and times for individual trips, starting station, ending station, and the membership level of the riders (standard, pay-as-you-go, or monthly). Healthy Ride’s data is recorded and reported anonymously, however, so bike share enthusiasts can rest assured that their identifying information has been protected.

The reports will be an important part of an open, data-driven approach to enhancing bike share in the future. “We would like future improvements and potential expansion of Healthy Ride to be a public process,” explains Bike Share Executive Director David White. “Releasing our trip data is the first step toward including the larger Pittsburgh community in the planning and discussion around improvements in active transportation.”

Don’t forget: Healthy Ride will be available 24/7 through the winter months.
