Seeking Summer Outreach Specialists

BikePGH is hiring part-time seasonal help for our summer events. Summer is prime biking season and every year we host bike valet at the Three Rivers Arts Festival, WYEP Summer Music Fest, Thrival Festival, and more. It is important that we have great BikePGH representation at these events, and that’s where you come in!

We need friendly faces to talk with about biking and walking in Pittsburgh, share information about the organization and our events, and encourage BikePGH membership. Part-time staff will also help us prepare for and set up major events such as OpenStreetsPGH and PedalPGH.

Job responsibilities include distributing BikePGH’s educational materials, communication of BikePGH’s programming and events, physical set up and operations of bike valet and other events, directing bike valet volunteers to assist the outreach specialist, and communication of event report to BikePGH’s events management staff.

Qualifications:

• Great customer service skills! Being comfortable talking to people is a must, and we’ll provide you with the resources you will need to answer people’s questions
• A passion for bicycle and pedestrian advocacy
• Enjoyment of free live music and a willingness to be outside rain or shine
• Reliable transportation to and from events (we have a large bicycle trailer which can hold all the event gear if you prefer to bike)
• Effective communication skills
• Quick problem solving skills

Compensation: $12 per hour
