Hmm, I’ll be curious how this works out. Does this mean groups like Venture Outdoors won’t be able to buy blocks of tickets, or that it’s a crap shoot whether you could do this with a friend or your kids? They’ve probably already thought of this….I’d like to do this ride again, so I will wring my hands in the meantime….

2012 TD Five Boro Bike Tour

There’s no need for nail biting this year when tour registration rolls around. After last year’s 24-hour sellout, we’re switching to a lottery registration system allowing everyone a fair and equal chance to ride the 2012 TD Five Boro Bike Tour presented by Eastern Mountain Sports. Instead of rushing to register while the openings last, you can enter at any point during the lottery period. Stay tuned for detailed lottery and registration information coming next week!

Even the NY marathon has exclusions for large groups, I don’t see why this would be more strict.

Riding with friends though may present a problem though.

Good to know: I suppose the way to ride w/ a cohort would be to sign up via one of the group blocks. I saw several church groups on last year’s ride, which I mostly remember due to one of the groups wearing “Holy Rollers” tshirts.
