I thought that’s what the beards were for… or are those “protein harvesters” collecting airborne insects for consumption later?
No, the beards are tactile cues, to help prevent putting the helmets on back-to-front in the dark.
And those with bright, gingery beards (like my husband) are visible from 2 miles away.
The future is uncertain!
You never know when the food supplies might be suddenly disrupted!
That is why I ALWAYS carry a coupla dozen donuts around my waist! Don’t leave home without them! (um…as if that were an option.)
Thanks to reddan, I’m now picturing a bunch of bearded men trying to put helmets on each other in the dark, and missing.
the beard is to keep my belly warm.
