Gavin and Tom made it to the tunnels in 12 1/2 hours. If they can keep up the pace, they may have a new record. Tailwinds the whole way. Kicking myself right now. All of these people need to do a horrific weather year if they haven’t already :).

Gavin and Tom were in at 7:40 AM. 26:40 for westbound is insane.

Hey folks, I’ve gotten the approval for a permanente that follows the Crush the Commonwealth route. It’s permanente #3088 in the RUSA database. I’m calling it P2P.
You can ride it either way, from Pittsburgh to Philly or vice versa.
The route distance is 615K, with 4945 m of climbing Pgh?Philly. The route is here: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/3913803.
BUT: you can’t ride this and Crush the Commonwealth at the same time! Because you might draft off non-randonneurs in Crush the Commonwealth, which would count as outside assistance. So you’d have to do it at another time, or combine it with CtC as the reverse trip (which, BTW, would be almost exactly the same distance and a little more climbing than PBP, so good practice!)
Contact me to ride this.

Do people actually draft on CtC? I asked a tressler brother, who said he they didn’t draft when they set those records before.

They passed me when I rode it (I didn’t sleep), at least I think it was them. Looked like they were drafting to me. But maybe it depends on what you call drafting.

Yes, drafting is done quite frequently in CtoC.
