IKEA Issues A Recall For Its SLADDA Bike

IKEA reports that they sold an estimated 4900 SLADDA bikes in the US.  All are now subject to recall (as are the SLADDA specific accessories).  These were $399 belt drive bikes that IKEA was selling worldwide.  Apparently the belt (which was used in lieu of the more traditional chain) broke on several bikes, and resulted in minor injury in a handful of cases.

Are there any SLADDA bikes in Pittsburgh?  I don’t know that I have seen one.

Ikea makes bikes? Does it come in a flat pack?

This article says it did. It’s not just been recalled, they’ve ended bike production entirely, it seems.
