Someone posted a response to concerns on the Great Allegheny Passage list. I’m not sure who is being quoted here, though:
All parties are aware that the Three Rivers Heritage Trail, at the Casino site, has temporarily closed, which has happened because of an accelerated Casino construction schedule. This is because of loss of time due to the litigations. I understand the Casino is committed to the Trail being back up, and built at a better standard than it is currently.
A detour is being developed, and the hope was that it would be agreed and completed before now, however it has taken more time than originally thought. The Casino has taken on the expense of doing this, and anticipates it will be complete in the next couple weeks.
So, a detour is to be worked out early January. Hopefully it’s more than just signs pointing people onto dangerous roads.
