I was hoping the new HMB would make my daily trip to south side a lot more plesant, but I was wrong. Last winter, even though the old bridge was covered with snow, I could still ride in the car tracks – they were slippery, but at least they were smooth. But the new HMB, once it was trampled on by foot traffic, had so many little bumps that it killed traction of the tires, and caused you to slide around every pedal stroke.
Even so, I’m still going to ride on the new HMB. I’d rather fall to my death than be flatten by the cars, which is not an honorable ticket out of this world for cyclists.
