This made me very happy and I had to share. I get these email ads from REI, so todays:

That’s a hot cycling outfit! That you could wear anywear! And the bike – rrrowr. No headlight, though. Eh, probably has one in the pack, yeah, that’s it.

Cool. They have just as many city bikes in stock as they do mountain and road bikes. Probably more actually.

And if you are a member, their return policy rules.

I am betting her lights are in the bag. Mine are unless I need them.

Edmonds.

I would gladly pay 2 dollars just to see you in the outfit (bridesmaids ride anyone) 8-]

2 bucks, I would feel bad about overcharging you.

edmonds, I think powder blue and coral are definitely good colors for you, and the calf-high boots would flatter your legs nicely. Dont’ sell yourself short!

(and a belated happy b-day!)

“And if you are a member, their return policy rules.”

YES!

My very first grown up bike was an REI purchase, I got a killer price too considering that it was not only marked down but mis-priced (knock another $100 off) and they honored their error. Too bad it was a mountain bike and the fork didn’t have lock-out but I’m delighted that they took it back two days later without complaint… most shops won’t even let me order a bike to try out at the store without some commitment to keep it. :(

Hey, listen, if I could pull it off, I would. I’m just trying to be considerate to y’all.

^^^I have that outfit! (except I generally go with a pole arm in lieu of that sissy little broadsword…)

why does he have that little butter knife when a claymore would be the appropriate sword/kilt paring.

Dude, you referred to it as an “outfit”, which concerns me.

Sorry, I meant ‘ensemble’.

that sword is closer to a claymore than a broadsword.

Actually, I think HV is correct. The foreshortening misled me, but it appears to have the classic swept quillions.

“quillion” is my new favorite word, thank you!

Oh, the tangents this board takes… awesome.

I wonder, though, if the dress in the original outfit… er, ensemble… is something REI sells? Cycling-specific?

I am terribly in arears, I haven’t swept my quillions in fortnights.

@Edmonds: it’s okay, sweeping one’s quillions naturally decreases as one ages.

that’s a shame, because the word is actually quillons. man, do i have to know everything around here?

I love the lady in the outfit! Good job REI.

I’m tired of seeing bicycle ads with ladies wearing breathable khaki cargo pants (sorry to all you folks who wear those – they are probably comfortable!) and pink tank tops.

Is that a custom left side drive commuter

bike? They get it, apparently their graphic

design dept doesnt.

ha, good catch… comes as a package deal with swapped brake levers, great for scooter riders.

Or is the image backwards? I missed the ad, how are the logos? Are they there, backwards, or blurred?

Orion, I think you missed the sarcasm train on that one.

If it were a custom left side drive bike, wouldn’t the headline read “The Left Gear For Your Ride” instead?

Orion, the ad’s in the first post in this thread.

I can see the ad but the details are too small.

Sarcasm… I think I got it in the first place, but out of the sarcasm was a serious question as to whether or not the actually did flip it. Many adds in magazines over the years have been flipped. I have seen more than one gun magazine, paintball magazine, and guitar magazine with flipped images.
