The BB7’s are pretty nice – work great, easy to setup, really common. Lots of folks have done some really serious riding on BB7’s. I like ’em, you hear.
That said, even the ones meant for road levers aren’t perfect. I’d reccommend the mountain versions with long-pull, non-shifting brake levers like the DIaCompe or Tektro v-brake ones. You’ll need to use barend shifters or something, but they work far better than STI levers paired with road-pull BB7’s in my experience.
