Hey folks. If you didn’t know already, I’m one of the guys behind Walls Are Bad. We’ve put together this crazy happy hour at OTB, just to show how much we love you, and everybody at Bike Pittsburgh is invited! This will be Walls Are Bad’s second happy hour at OTB Bicycle Cafe, and it’s happening on August 26th.

Because we had more notice this time, we’re offering gift giveaways (including a $100 REI gift card, WAB swag and so much more), $2 pedal pale ales, and best of all, a limited, one-day-only Walls Are Bad sandwich. We’re calling it, ‘the Outsider.’

Chock with coleslaw, onions, pulled pork and bacon, it is the closest we mere mortals can come to what the ancient Greeks called ‘ambrosia.’

The happy hour is from 5 to 7pm, and you should come. Don’t let the name fool you. Everybody’s invited!

Check out the Facebook event page for more info.

Hey RubberFactory – if you show up on the 26th, I’m sure they’ll make one for you if you ask nicely.

well, considering between the time I originally posted and now, I had to pay $300 to have my power shut off (never received any warning, they just shut it off), I don’t think I can afford to make it. Oh well, maybe another time!

Word just came in from OTB about what our exclusive sandwich is going to look like.

And this is what we’re looking at:

“Just like mom used to make it, well…. except of course with a little OTB twist. Sweet and spicy BBQ ham with melted cheddar cheese and crispy applewood smoked bacon topped with a dollop (oh yeah, we went there!) of coleslaw and served on grilled Texas Toast. While it’s not on our regular menu, this sandwich would actually rather be on the outside looking in. So, get Outside with this Walls Are Bad favorite!”

Also, eat our frigg’n sandwich. I tried it. Let me tell you, it made tears stream down my face. Manly,

Aw, I was hoping for an exclusive sandwich that would be easily adaptable for vegheads.

Another veg-friendly vote for future events. I can’t make this Thursday, though.

Based on the sandwich description it’s possible those tears were just excess cholesterol escaping. :D
