U.S. Steel donates 2 miles to trail in West Mifflin

U.S. Steel Corp. is planning to hand over a nearly 2-mile strip of land to help connect sections of the Great Allegheny Passage.
The passage, a 335-mile-long hiking and biking trail, will stretch from Point State Park, Downtown, to Washington, D.C. It is made up of seven trails organized under the Allegheny Trail Alliance.
U.S. Steel is donating a 1.89-mile stretch of property located near Kennywood Park in West Mifflin, company spokesman John Armstrong said Wednesday. U.S. Steel Chairman and CEO John Surma and Allegheny County Chief Executive Dan Onorato are expected to announce details of the gift today
