Hey guys! I moved from Pittsburgh to Wheeling 2 and a half years ago. It’s been good although I do miss the burgh. Anyways, We decided to do a Dirty Dozen in Wheeling. Same style as the Pittsburgh Dirty Dozen with points for top 5 finishers.
If anybody is interested in in a long day in the saddle then check it out:
The hills in general are a bit longer and a bit less steep then in Pittsburgh. It comes out to 45miles and 6,600′ of climb! Our steepest hill is around 25%
Well, I never gave an update about last year. We ended up having 21 folks show up on a very cold day in December. A mix of folks from Wheeling and the Pittsburgh area. This year we will doing the same format but, be having it earlier so it can be used as a training ride for the Pittsburgh Dirty Dozen. I am estimating 30-60 folks will show up but, we will have to see (seems like good interest levels on Facebook).
That one with the bricks should be the cover page for your brochure or website. I’m half tempted to send it to some people I know in Florida who are lucky to get 50 feet of elevation change in a 10-mile ride.
That one with the bricks is Elm St. It’s really short but I had to add it because it’s a mini Canton. About 20-25% grade. This is definitely a fun ride to put together I will give you guys an update afterwords.
