So I thought it might be “fun” to the Wilderness 101 this summer. A good friend (who lives in State College) has done it, and given me lots of good info about the race, and the course, but I thought I’d solicit other opinions about the course and how folks trained for it. Personally, I’ll treat it more like a brevet than a race (because I’m slow).
Specifically, I’m wondering if there are some local trails that might prepare me for the sort of singletrack terrain on the 101 course. For the record, I’ll be riding a rigid 29er single speed (unless a 29er boingy fork falls out of the sky into my backyard).
