I love that picture above. Snow-covered bikes make me happy.

There is a tire that a lot of people use during the winter when they don’t want to use studded tires. But I can’t remember what they are. I know some only use them all winter what are they?

Are there any 650c tires with tread?

My favorite kind of tire.

there seem to be two schools of thought to winter tires: studded and skinny. studded tires can grip ice very well though tend to lose traction in deep snow and packed, rutted snow. While skinny tires slice through everything except black ice.

I see the pros to each, so I subscribe to both.

each is quite the fetish.

@ sloaps what do you use for skinny tires? I dont think my Thick Slicks will work in snow or ice.

I need a winter bike that can double as a rain bike. A couple days in the rain and my rear wheel is thick with road and brake grime. I dislike having to take the time to wipe my bike down incessantly. It receives enough of my attention as it is.

There’s a problem that was solved decades ago. 3 speed, coaster brake, full fenders, chain guard. Cheers.

Yeah, I really should get my fixed gear back together for this purpose, now that I think about it.
