Does anyone use Twitter that's going on the PARK(ing) Day ride tomorrow?

This ride, planned by the messageboard's own ejwme and tabby is going all over the city, starting at lunch time, to stop at the 25 different PARK(ing) Day locations (see the map HERE)

Since most people won't be able to go on the whole ride, I wanted to see if anyone uses one of those internetty phones and could send updates to Twitter for particular stops that way people can join for part of the ride when it goes by their office / work.

I do use Twitter (@HoffmannJ, same as my user name here), and I would like to try to make the ride, but I can't guarantee it as I have a meeting that morning.

If I do make it, I'll tweet about it. Is there a hashtag people will be using - like #parkingday or something to that effect?

i have a twitter account but i don't really use it or understand it... can anyone make up a hashtag?

if so, we should probably go with #parkingdayPGH so it won't get lost

Anyone can make up a hashtag, although they tend to be most effective the more people using the same tag, of course.

#parkingdayPGH it is. I'll try to be there tomorrow.

Do we have a similar hashtag for the Flock party ride? No way I'm getting to Oakland by 6, but I'd love to meet y'uns en route somewhere. ETA Dahntahn 6:45-7p.

Technology is So Shiny!!

(I'm mostly Amish, thus of no help - this message board is about the limits of my interwebs skilz)

ok, i'm somewhat creeped out by posting this, but i'll turn it on for the day and see how it works out:

i'm definitely planning to do the (park)ing day ride, not sure if i'll be able to make flock or not.

i'll see if i can find something to tweet the location as well. didn't dan have something like that?

PS: bonus points if you can explain my latitude icon :)

Glympse

hm... looks like glympse just sends a map link anyways... what would be cool would be something that tweeted addresses or intersections directly (i.e. "11:15 5th & Negley 15232"). If you subscribed to that via SMS it would probably be easier than looking at a map for this purpose.

So i'll stick with what i posted above - hopefully it will be accurate enough to enable people to find us. I'll also try to send some tweets with general location and if I leave the ride early - @mr_salty

I can't wait to do it again next year :D

On one day, I crossed rivers 6 times, biked along riverfront trails 4 times, saw a guy melting glass, ate more popcorn than I thought I could, ate a burger under a bicycle, watched construction repairing an ancient lock, learned about Kentucky Coffee Trees, ran into friends headed to the Paw Paw festival, ran into a bridge (ouch, called 311 re: sign), found a railroad spike, saw a truck opened like a sardine can, ate an organic mango lollypop, and got interviewed.

I can't wait for next year.
