I'm okay right now, I still have the stolen pannier's slightly less than mediocre opposite side twin. I had zip-tied the ripped off substandard pannier so I could haul groceries periodically and hold the ungodly heavy chain I used to use to secure my wife's and kids bikes when we ride together. I guess I was under the mistaken assumption that no rational/reasonable human being would steal a worn clapped out less than ideal pannier that wasn't even waterproof, but hey, what do I know? If anyone comes across these things abandoned Downtown somewhere, please let me know, I'd appreciate it. There was also an Onguard Beast chain lock in there, maybe a small medi-kit, some assorted bungees including an octopus one I brought back with me from Peace Corps. I kinda miss that crappy pannier. On the upside, the ride in this morning seemed a lot snappier with less weight.
